This is the first time that I got some real tomatoes on my plants. The weather was wonderful this year. Funny thing is I don't even eat tomato. But I do love using them for Salsa and tomato sauce for food starage. This is not enough. I am planning on doing another crop in Aug this year and next year I will plant more plants. This year i only did 3, and boy they did well.

One Month later of my Tomato plants
I got TOMATOES.... hopefully enough for me to make some yummy salsa, tomato sauce and go on. I still have to figure out why some of my flowers got blossom drops. But I still get some tomatoes this year. I have to watch out for those big fat green worms too!! Next step, put most of the worms that I raised this year into this tomato box!!

The worms have arrived!!
Thanks to my friend Julie, we ordered worms together, that way we can saved on shipping. This is my second years doing this (raising worms). They look pretty happy and healthy. Today I made a worm bed for them to live in Hopefully i will have a lot of worms this year. Most importantly, they trun the food into compost plus their worm casting are so good to the garden. Work hard, my little friends. Who would have thought one year ago, I never even touch a worm in my life.

My Chinese Vegetables
When I went to Hong Kong last December, my lovely Mom got me some chinese vegetables seeds. I could only wish they would grow and taste like the one in Hong Kong. But since our soil and weather are so different. I am still gonna try. Nothing hurts. I put both kind of seeds into the soil today. Let's see what will happen!! March 18, 2010.
Updated about 1 week or so later, my pok choy and choy sum are sprouting...yay!!! I don't know if the heat will kill them. But I surely hope I can make some stir fry with them.

Thanks to my garden friend - Jen Estes
Brenner and I visited Jen Estes's garden. you know what? I didn't bring my camera and it was a very fun trip. Jen gave me a lot of good tips with the garden stuffs. One of them is the broccoli plant. I planted it last year and it grown so big and i had to move it on the side so that the bees will still come and I can have more room to grow others stuffs. Thanks to Jen, I moved the broccoli and now I have more room to plant other vegetables, I am scared of Bees too, just can't work around when there are 10 around my head). Athough the plant is looking kind of dead for now. But it still serves a purpose, the bees are still coming to pollinate my strawberries and lemon tree. I hate you bees and I love you, I just can't make up my mind yet.

Sugar Snap peas - my favourite
My strawberries box
I brought 4 strawberry plants at stars nursery last year. Only one didn't die and in a year. They have been growing so big and spreading almost the whole box. After I put the fertilizer in the soil. A week later...there were tons and tons of flowers came out. Hopefully they will turn into strawberries for us. The boys love strawberries.
My meyer dwarf lemon tree
I got a tiny little lemon tree this year. I hope I won't kill it. it's such a beautiful tree. Even though I might never see a lemon on it. The flowers on it just smell amazing. Since I only have a small yard and can't really plant a tree. So I decided to buy a big planter and put that little tree in it. If it's too hot, I can move it to a shady area. Lemon tree, please don't die.
The work is done - for now!!
Big Billy is so nice to help me to build my planter boxes and get the tomato mix from Plant world. Now, my box are ready to go. This year, we have to get rid of our sand box so that we have more room for my fantasy garden. (sorry kids, the main reason too....is my neighbor's cat has been using our sand box as their own bathroom). so a planter box is so much better. The sand are gone and the real dirt has come!! I am a happy girl! - for now.
